Credit Analyst
We are seeking a Credit Analyst to play a key role in supporting our sales team by conducting credit evaluations, structuring financing packages, and helping ensure deals align with our partner lenders’ underwriting requirements. This role focuses on detailed credit assessment and collaboration with both internal teams and external lending partners. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of credit fundamentals, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment. This position reports to the Direct of Credit.
This is an in-office position with potential flexibility for occasional remote work post-onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze credit data, financial statements, and supporting documents for businesses applying for small-ticket equipment financing generally $25k to $150k.
Assess risk and creditworthiness to support financing recommendations and structuring
Package credit requests and present them to partner lenders in a clear, compelling manner
Act as a liaison between the sales team and lender partners, communicating updates, clarifications, and any required changes to applications
Manage a pipeline of active deals, and maintain and update their records in internal systems, ensuring accuracy and timely tracking of credit decisions and turnaround timelines within SLAs.
Build and maintain productive relationships with existing lender partners to support ongoing deal flow
Stay current on industry trends, credit markets, and lending best practices
Contribute strategically to ElmBlue’s mission by improving credit workflows, risk assessment standards, and partnership outcomes
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of relevant professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in equipment leasing, commercial finance, or small business credit analysis
Prior experience with personal and business credit reporting (Experian, Equifax, Paynet, LexisNexis)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present credit positions across business levels
Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems preferred
Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other financial tools
Analytical, proactive, and results-driven mindset
Self-motivated and collaborative, with a passion for credit analysis and deal structuring
